Chocolate Mug Cake

This chocolate mug cake is really easy to make, it can be made in a matter of minutes. The recipe is made in the microwave in around 3 minutes and contains no egg, so their is no concerns about under cooking. As you can see from the image, the cake was eaten almost as fast as it was cooked!

You will need:

4 tbsp self raising flour

2 tbsp sugar

2 tbsp cocoa powder

3 tbsp milk

3 tbsp butter

1 tbsp nutella/ chocolate spread (optional, but makes the cake really moist)

Pinch of salt

Drop of vanilla extract

1 coffee mug

How To Make

1. In your mug sift flour, add cocoa powder, salt and sugar and mix together.

2. To the mix, add milk and butter and mix well ensuring there is no lumps or flour pockets.

3. mix in nutella and vanilla extract.

4. Once mix is smooth put a blob of nutella on top of the mix. This will melt down and form a nice topping.

5. Place mug in the center of the microwave and cook for around 3 minutes. This is based on a 750watt microwave. For newer microwaves reduce the power and cooking time appropriately. Sounds yummy. a must try!

Gemma

Yum! This was the easiest mug cake I have made, and tasty although it needed the nutella or something extra. Mine only took just over 1 minute to cook though, and even a tiny bit of overcooking destroys microwave cake, so be warned!

Sera

I found the nutella mug cake to be really salty and not sweet enough... maybe I'll try again with adjustments. The texture was great though.
