Garlic Bread That is So Good Only Vampires Will Hate You

This is a very simple recipe that will fit into any budget and add extra flavor to any meal. It’s great for a quick snack and can be easily adapted to entertain guests.

Good garlic bread is really very simple to make. You can make garlic bread out of just about any kind of bread, not just Italian bread. A few types that work well are: hotdog buns, hamburger buns, and sandwich bread. These are as tasty as those premade, frozen garlic loaves and less expensive then fresh garlic bread solid at the grocery store’s bakery.

In this example, the bread selected was uncut sesame seed hamburger buns. The best thing about this recipe is its simplicity. This recipe feeds up to 3 people. The ingredients are:

1 large uncut sesame seed bun; cut into 1/2” thick slices (this will make nine slices)

3 tablespoons melted butter or margarine.

2 heaping teaspoons minced garlic.

1 teaspoon dried or fresh parsley.

Step 1: Slice the hamburger bun into ½” thick (if you are using one of the very large buns you should have about 9 slices when you are finished).

Step 2: In a large skillet over medium heat add the butter and garlic and heat until butter melts. Turn off heat.

Step 3: On a large cutting board lay out the slices of bread that you have prepared. With a pastry brush, coat one side of each bread slice with melted  butter and garlic mixture.

Step 4: Sprinkle the dried parsley over the top of the coated bread slices.

Step 5: Place the large skillet over medium heat until hot. Put the slices of bread with the coated side facing down. You want to toast the buttered side of each slice until it is lightly brown (about 2 to 5 minutes). Then flip over each slice and cook an additional 2 to 3 minutes or long enough to add a little brown color to the unbuttered side. This will add eye appeal.

When entertaining guests on a budget, you need food that pleases the crowd while not breaking your food budget. If you really want to impress the crowd learn to be creative with your presentation, a little creativity goes a long way. A few garnishes add a little pizzazz while making your meal more appealing to those who are enjoying it.

The end results will be an empty plate. Remember the best way to judge your culinary skills is by how much food is left at the end of the meal!

Great easy and step by step. I made garlic bread once nobody liked it!:-( I think it may have been the type of margarine I used (butter would be much nicer) or the fact that I just mixed the marge and garlic together then just spread, then put it in the oven! Oh well, better luck next time.
